Director’s Welcome

This Far the Lord Has brought us

Director Rev. David Chuchu

Director Rev. David Chuchu

We are glad that God has blessed us with another opportunity to share with you activities that DCM has undertaken during the last four months with your good and perfect gift from God Himself. We do understand that in this ministry whatever we do in bringing hope and showing mercy to the less fortunate among us, it is The Lord himself who does it, using you and your gift as His hand to offer services to his people.

In serving persons with disabilities, we have focused on employment of young adults with disabilities who complete vocational training and so far 58 have been supported either through employment or micro-loans to ensure graduates have the necessary equipment and materials to begin a new job or start a small business. We encourage you being part of this wonderful ministry of brining hope to the vulnerable in our midst. I am sincerely grateful for the honor with Christian Service Award, for professional working with persons with disabilities that Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services Inc, USA bestowed on me onbehalf of people we work with this ministry.

The enormous number of children being orphaned by the AIDs virus is one of the major challenges of the Kenyan society that Diakonia Compassionate Ministry through the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenya seeks to address. DCM is helping the most disadvantaged orphans, mainly aids orphans, in Kenya by providing them with the basic needs which include food, shelter, clothing, health care and above all education. So far DCM has supported 300 orphans.

We have continued to offer support to the elderly and widows taking care of orphans or children with disabilities. So far we have provided 20 goats and the project will continue to provide more goats in the next coming months. We sincerely want to thank you for your continued support.

We are also being grateful for taking part in Peace Initiative aimed at building trust among communities after post election violence. DCM has been involved in Peace Building Initiative targeting the Luos and Kisiis who are ever at wars with each other.

Finally, brothers and sisters, we continue to request for your prayers for the continuation of this ministry and also that the Lord will continue to send his merciful hand through you to bring hope and end darkness in the lives of orphans and children with disabilities.
